Rodeo!!!

It was a pleasant surprise to find that my dad was coming into town and would be here for the rodeo! He was excited too, I can assure you and you can tell it by the look on his face in these pictures. We saw almost everything there was to see in the kid's area of the rodeo. Andrew got a cowboy hat to match his grandpa's. We ate rodeo food. This year, Chad and I tried a monster burrito. It was really good. No fried twinkies or fried oreos this year!
A highlight was the petting zoo. Dad had almost as much fun as my kids! The animals were CRAZY in this petting zoo, we had cups of food and these animals were not shy, AT ALL! They had goats, sheep, llamas, pigs, deer, some poultry, I think, and maybe some more. There was one particular deer that kept trying to eat my shirt and my camera bag. It was a little wild and crazy!

And little-bit-too-friendly large llama: (Dad: "c'mon Aubrey come stand near this llama, this is so cool!" Aubrey: "uuuhhhh, okay...") You can see my Dad's arm holding Aubrey in place for this important llama picture.
And then the llama bent his head down next to Aubrey's getting in close for the picture. (Aubrey: "Agh!" Dad laughs.) Ah, that picture is so funny.
Pony rides, a special treat... Aubrey rode Comanche and I don't know the name of Andrew's horse.

A very large tractor, in Chad's words, My what big rims you have...
I'm sure Dad would love to own one of these.
It was Aubrey's idea to pose like this on the tractor's steps...
That was almost more fun than we could handle. But then, Lindsay arrived with Jessica and we went to the actual rodeo and concert. It was Rascal Flatts, coincidentally, making it three years in a row we've seen them in concert at the rodeo. It was awesome as always, but then the kids fell asleep and so we decided we had had enough fun and headed home. But that was a special treat to have dad come in town at the same time as the rodeo so we could go together!
