Trunk or Treat and Halloween...
Tinkerbell... fairy queen of cheesy smiles...
And the cutest little fireman you ever did see...
Halloween festivities this year included a ward Trunk or Treat and carnival that was super fun.
In the end, Aubrey was grossed out by a gummy foot, and Andrew fell asleep with part of our trunk decorations for a blanket. Fun times. 
A week later, they made an encore appearance at Grammie's and around our neighborhood.
I love that with Andrew's emerging english (as opposed to his ever-present jibberish) he was able to say Trick or Treat. It actually sounded more like "Reet Reet," but when he realized candy ("dinny") was associated with the pronunciation of this phrase, he was all for it. After the first house, he was so tickled to have gotten one piece of candy. I think he thought that was it because he headed back toward the car. So, you can imagine how thrilled he was when he realized he could have a whole stretchy pumpkin bag full. His big blue eyes grew bigger and so did his bag until it was too heavy for him. Aubrey was relieved to not get any more gummy feet, but she did get quite a few tootsie rolls, so she was pretty happy too.
This is what the dads were doing while the moms were taking the kids from house to house. (That is, they were lagging behind and chatting to each other while their wives were herding the 11 children around in the dark and keeping them out of the street.) 
The evening was capped off by going to the Newman's house and making caramel apples. It was a great way to end the evening.
Mmm, they were sooo good.

Chad was happy to don a scary troll mask and ears of elephant like proportion and frighten small children during the Trunk or Treat portion of the evening.

Those were fancy apples...looked good. I'm glad you gave us a long, newsy Halloween post. Those pictures were great. That fireman is adorable and his haircut makes him look so old! I can't believe Chad wore the freaky Shriners mask-it scares me! What is on the Fireman's face in the trunk or treat picture? Tink is lookin' real good and finally, I used the same tablecloth to line my candy bowl at our trunk or treat...that made me laugh.
So fun!! I just giggled at how cute Aubs and Andrew looked! Wish we could have been there to hang out with you guys! I feel like eating some dinny or caramel apples myself right now...

We ALSO used our Halloween tablecloth (albeit a different material) to decorate our van for trunk or treat. It really is an all purpose cloth. Little did mom know how far that set of freshman table cloths would go. Your trunk or treat looks like it was much more fun than ours, we don't do games at ours, and they always do it on Halloween night. No Fun. The kids looked super cute. Where did you find that Fireman costume?
